Spring/Summer 2008

25-Jun-2008

Spring/Summer is finally here! Due to the number of ticks in the Thetis area and the fact that we saw a case of Lyme disease two years ago, we are recommending that the dogs are tested if they have been exposed to ticks. SEE THE CLINIC FORMS SECTION FOR A TICK/LYME DISEASE SURVEY FORM.

Diabetes in Pets

What is diabetes?
Diabetes mellitus is a disease in which your pet's pancreas can no longer produce enough of the hormone insulin.

Cat Behaviour Problems

You cannot discipline cats as you would dogs. Use of punishment will only teach your cat to fear you. It is better to train cats into behaviour that is alternative or incompatible to the problem behaviour.

Emergency Preparedness

When disaster strikes, pets are just as vulnerable as people.

First Aid for Pets

In a crisis, owners first on the scene with knowledge of first aid can be vital in keeping their pet alive.

Dog Behaviour Problems

Pets, like people, are sensitive to factors that may result in unwanted behaviours. Poor training, change in routine or environment, or specific instinctual pet characteristics may be some of the reasons why your pet is misbehaving.
