A little bit about us:

Welcome to Slate River Veterinary Services. Our mission is to treat your pets as if they were our own. We strive to treat them with love, care and quality medicine. We believe that it is through communication with you, the pet owner, that we can work together to give your pet a happy and healthy home environment. Pets are an important part of our lives and we want nothing more than to ensure that your furry friends remain with your family for a long time.

We are a mixed animal clinic located in the scenic Slate River Valley just a short 15 minute drive South of Thunder Bay. We were established in 2001, and at that time we were mainly a bovine practice. In 2002, we began offering more extensive equine services, and in 2005 began the small animal portion of our practice. This same year, we renovated to include a larger surgery room, and 2 exam rooms. We enjoy servicing clients from all walks of life and enjoy practicing in a relax rural setting, where our clients and patients are considered friends and family.

We are currently a three veterinarian practice, and we provide our own emergency care. Therefore if a crisis does occur with your pet or farm animal, you can rest assured knowing that you will be with someone who knows you and also knows your pet and his/her history. Our Veterinary Clinic provides medical, surgical, dental and proactive care. We have an in-house laboratory, ultrasound, radiology and ECG machine. We also have a portable x-ray machine for equine needs.
